Honda is going to build small car specifically for India with about 80% of its parts being manufactured in India. This car seems to be in competition to the recently launched Renault Kwid. Renault has launched the small car Kwid for India with about 98% of its parts from the local.
Hiranao Ito, the senior vice president at Honda Gunbetsu India the R & D arm speaking to Reuters said that Honda is going to bring the car the first to be developed at its research centre and will be above small and entry level model kind of cars.
Noriaki Abi, the company’s chief operating officer for Asian and Oceania regional operations expressed his view on small cars in October like this “ Its very attractive to enter into small car segment and isn’t any use to launch the same kind of small car models like Maruthi” he said.
Honda says that this car would be affordable and high featured.
Hence it can be seen that Honda’s small car could be a competition to Renault Kwid. It is Honda vs Renault Kwid.
