We all know that passwords are essential to sign into an account. Password management is one of those annoying things most of us have to deal with when signing into social media or website.
Google is now working on a service that enables users to log into accounts just by tapping on their smartphones, eliminating the task of hard-to-remember passwords. Google has announced that it is testing a new way for allowing the users to sign into their Google accounts without password.
The use of password management software helps users to simplify the process by storing all of your passwords and auto-log you into a secure site.
It’s common that many of us use easily hack-able passwords such as “password” “12346” “password123456” and so forth.
Hackers know there are many people who still practice this and sadly these people are easy pickings, especially when they use the same credentials for every site they use.
The test was first reported by a Reddit user, rp1226, who tells that users first have to authorize their phone to use as an authentication device.
After entering their email-id in the Google account log-in field, a pop-up message on their phone asks them to authenticate the session. When they acknowledge the pop-up, the desktop page forwards as if they have entered the right password manually.
Google declared that this no-password feature will be made available to both Android and iOS users. However, users will be allowed to retain the traditional method of signing into social media or website via a password. Google claims that the new no-password feature will give it a much needed edge in the fight against phishing.
