HTC One M9 and One M8 scheduled for Android 6.0 Marshmallow update

The owners of HTC One M9 and One M8 looking for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA (over-the-air) update could make it soon. The firmware is set to release to its devices over the next few days.

Vice president of HTC product management Mo Versi gives out helpful information on his personal Twitter account, explaining when notable updates are coming for HTC phones and also giving support answers one at a time to his followers.

Mo Versi has confirmed on Twitter Google's latest firmware will be rolled out to Sasktel, Rogers, Wind and Videotron variants of HTC One M9 in South America on Monday, 18 January. He also confirmed that the T-Mobile variant of HTC One M8 will receive the firmware on 25 January.

While answering to a query Mo Versi also said that the Sprint variant of HTC One M8 in Hong Kong will get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update sometime next week. There is no word on when the AT&T and Verizon variants of the devices will receive the firmware though.

A few days ago the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update was pushed to One M8 in the US and Asia. HTC earlier announced that software would be rolled out in its devices like the One A9, E9+, E9, One M9+, ME, E8, One M8 Eye, Desire 826,  Butterfly 3, Desire 820 and Desire 816.

With large device updates usually, expect the OTA for Android 6.0 to go out in stages - while some customers would get their update on Monday, most will have to wait at least a day or two for HTC's servers to distribute it to all devices.
