Huawei Honor 5X Unveiled at CES 2016, to be Launched in India on Jan 28


The Chinese smartphone-maker Huawei has unveiled the international variant of the Honor 5X smartphone at CES 2016 on Jan 6. Honor has also sent out media invites for an event in Delhi on January 28, where it is highly likely to launch the smartphone. The China-based Honor 5X was launched in back in October.


The President of Honor, George Zhao, said "Honor 5X is a no nonsense smartphone which delivers all the essentials millennial want and need in a device."


"We designed Honor 5X to be an extension of the personalities of its users like cool, stylish and iconic and it integrates creative technology so that users get the most of their device and have a superior Internet experience, all at an affordable price," he added.


Coming to Huawei Honor 5X specifications and features, it flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display with fairly thin side bezels. It's made up of a brushed metal with a thickness of 8.15mm. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 616 64-bit octacore processor paired with Adreno 405 GPU and 3GB of RAM.


The end caps of the phone are smartly dimpled plastic, and the recessed fingerprint sensor uses ‘Fingerprint 2.0' technology is placed below the rear camera contrasts nicely in a matte finish. The smartphone is available in two variants – 16GB storage variant with 2GB of RAM, and 32GB storage variant with 3GB of RAM. Both variants also feature a microSD card slot to expand memory up to 128GB.


Software-wise Honor 5X smartphone comes with EMUI 3.1 on top of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. On the photography front, the smartphone is has a 13-megapixel f/2.0 rear camera with dual-LED flash and front is a 5-megapixel f/2.2 selfie camera with wide angle lens. It also features a 3,000mAh battery good enough to survive for more than a day. It supports Quick Charge 3.0 that can charge from zero to 50 percent in 30 minutes.


Connectivity options of Huawei Honor 5X include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS etc.
