The first ever spyshots of the Suzuki Gixxer 250(Suzuki GSX R250 / Suzuki GW 250) have been leaked confirming the model’s existence by a Chinese website at Haojue Changzhou factory of Suzuki in China. According to the media, it is expected to be shown at the Auto-Expo 2016 in February in Greater Noida and its launch in the same year in India.

The spied model seems to have resemblance to the GSX-R1000 in some way. Some amount of part and design sharing from the entry-level Gixxers (the 155 and the SF) can be seen on the Gixxer 250/GSX-R250 as well. The switchgear consoles appear to be identical and instrument cluster is almost the same as the Gixxer’s too.
The details of the Gixxer 250 powertrain are yet to be uncovered. It seems that the motorcycle uses a retuned version of the twin-cylinder quarter-litre engine that powers the Suzuki Inazuma tourer. The 248 cc inline-twin liquid-cooled engine produces close to 26 PS of maximum power and 24 Nm of peak torque on the Inazuma, and is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 will be pitted against the Honda CBR250R, upcoming Hero HX250R and Kawasaki Ninja 300.
